Topics

Hasn't React Router been around forever? We already know React Router! Most React devs are familiar with React Router for SPAs, but React Router Framework (formerly Remix) is a server and client framework similar to NextJS. With framework mode in React Router or NextJS, imagine not even needing global state architecture or bespoke data-fetching strategies.

In this workshop we'll dive into the latest advancements in React and best practices for building modern React apps. We'll take a look at modern NextJS and React Router Framework along with React's new "React Server Components". We'll also talk about improving the data-fetching strategies of your SPAs along with options for migrating your SPA to modern React Router.

Logistics

Attendees will receive an email with their Zoom URL and instructions workshop code about one week prior to the event. There's plenty of instructions for installing the code even if you're new to Node and NPM. This is just a high-level overview of the many topics we'll cover in the event including pre-requisites:

Just got out of 7-hour-long "Advanced React Patterns" workshop by @ReactTraining / @bradwestfall and it was amazing! I've been using React almost every day for years and I've learned many things. Both things I've overlooked and things I thought I knew. Highly recommended.

Sitting in @ReactTraining listening to @ryanflorence. Wish I'd learned React this way. Would have saved me a bunch of time.

Honestly, @cassidoo was such a great instructor! 10/10 would recommend @ReactTraining — feeling like a React wizard now. 🧙‍♂️

TypeScript or JavaScript?

While this workshop isn't about TypeScript specifically, we do have our material in TypeScript because it has become immensely popular to use and most of our clients ask for it. If attendees don't do TS, don't worry we'll teach the very basics as we go and it's not a distraction from React.
